1.) Baked Omelette

Like quiche, but without the pastry and super easy to prepare. I like to make little baked omelettes in a muffin tin and than have them as a snack or breakfast on the go. You can find the recipe for an oven baked omelette with veggies here.

2.) No Oats Porridge

Porridge doesn’t have to be made with oats. There are so many other grains and flakes that you can use instead. For a tasty quinoa porridge simply cook about 60g of quinoa according to the package. Just before it is done add a splash of canned coconut milk and a spoon of agave syrup of honey. You can also try this with millet, brown rice, spelt, amaranth or pearl barley.

3.) Stuffed Sweet Potato

Have you tried stuffing your sweet potato with something non- savoury? I love to fill mine with yogurt, fresh fruits, granola and some maple syrup. Peanut butter, chocolate and coconut flakes make an awesome combination too! If you don’t have a lot of time in the morning, you can easily prepare this dish by cooking the sweet potato the night before. Place it in the fridge and all you have to do in the morning is to add your favourite toppings.

4.) Breakfast Wrap

Breakfast wraps make a perfect grab and go meal. Make sure you always add some protein and go for a wholemeal wrap, so you stay full till lunch time. Here is a list of fillings that make a great combination:

Scrambled eggs, grilled veggies

Scrambled low fat feta cheese, white beans, olives and salad

Black beans, veggies and guacamole

5.) Scrambled Eggs With a Twist 

Scrambled eggs are a quick, easy and filling breakfast. I usually have mine on fresh wholegrain toast or with fried potatoes. Since they have a pretty neutral taste there are so many things you can add to your scrambled eggs to change up your breakfast. Here is a list of things that I love to add:

Peanut butter

If you like the combination of sweet and savoury you will love this combination. Prepare your scrambled eggs as usual. Before serving season them with a little salt and pepper and add a tablespoon of peanut butter. It will melt right in with your eggs. If you are using unsweetened peanut butter you can add a tsp of agave syrup as well.


Turmeric has many health benefits, it boosts your immune system and is also anti inflammatory. Simply add a tsp of turmeric spice when whisking your eggs together. They will also turn out bright yellow and a colourful dish instantly upgrades your breakfast, I am right?


You will often find scrambled eggs topped with yogurt on the menu of a turkish breakfast restaurant. It is not only tasty, but will also give you a protein boost in the morning. Add a handful of fresh diced tomatoes to your eggs while they are cooking. Season with salt, pepper and paprika spice and top them with 2-3 tbsp of yogurt before serving.
